Beef liver is an acquired taste. Not many people enjoy it. I am a big fan, as required by my taste buds. The problem is I have not had a good piece of liver in over 20 years. It once was beefy, red – full of blood, and tender. Now it is all sinew. You have to have a little saucer to hold the inedible scraps retrieved from your mouth after chewing.
Something another else; I do not like kettle cooked oats – a big favorite of many. But I do enjoy the little packets of single serve oatmeal. Have done all my life. You once had to measure the hot water pour carefully because the oats would expand and soak up the water. Everybody had their own taste for moisture level. Now, the oats just float in the bowl like little pebbles. They never expand. It is barely a meal.
Regretfully, I have just sworn off beef liver, and individual packets of oats – forever. No point to keep looking, it is not changing back.
The kids these days are hard done by. The cereals we enjoyed as children have been reduced to the point of have no value.
I am living rural theses days. Meaning, if I have a craving I have to cook it. However, I am going to have to try an buy a house because I need to grow my own staples, as well. Last week I purchased a package of Brussels sprout that were almost as big as a tennis ball. Not real keen.
Anything prepackaged has been cut back and reduced to the point of having little to no value.
More money, more money, more money. People care about little else, these days. Long live capitalism.
