Once revered as the cornerstone of democracy, have all but been hijacked by party apartheid.
We have all kinds of exceptions, exemptions, legal gerrymandering, and hardware.
There are some great political minds in this world – despite having no actual credence for society. They are really good at achieving any desired political outcome.
How many years before these thought processes and control mechanisms become institutionalized? Then what? You end-up with a leader like Donald Trump. Or a stolen election like Biden and Bush Jr. President Trump is actively demonstrating how easily a democracy can become compromised.
The failure in any and every constitution is that it is static – like a LTS Linux distro (long term stable). An LTS distro is designed for stability (my preference). The only regular updates are for security. An LTS distro does not have the bells and whistles future minds crave. It is designed for endurance and uptime.
You should have my point by now. There should be a Convention of States to revisit the constitution every 100 years. But it comes with risk. If the intent is not pure, institutional methodologies are allowed to seep in – you will wreck yourself. For added safety; determine specific sections to be revisited and not the entire document. To include future amendments.
Elections as we once knew them will soon be under Satan’s control. We left it too long.
Democracy needs constant updates.
[there is presently no party system mentioned in the US Constitution. that was accomplished by congress having the constitutional authority to make their own rules]
[through party apartheid there will be times when congress refuses to legislate – deadlock. the ability to deadlock the government requires special attention. even without party politics there will always be factions]
