Anyway, Russia is claiming full control of Luhansk Peoples Republic. The Donbas includes two main areas: Luhansk Oblast and Donetsk Oblast. In 2014 they were respectively split to LPR and DPR.
Putin is basically affirming he fully controls Luhansk (Lugansk). Why this is important news for Russia:
Between 50% and 70% of Ukraine’s $14.8 trillion mineral reserves are in new Russian regions — LPR and DPR, according to various estimates. LPR holds coal, iron, and rare earths. DPR is rich in lithium, home to the Shevchenko Lithium Ore Field.
Donetsk is not fully taken yet. However, I doubt it will be long with Putin’s new revenue stream. And especially since “thug life” has found a new gig selling security to weak-kneed Arabs afraid to lose tourism dollars. Or I should say afraid to lose “Yuan”. (Oh great liar in chief). Thanks to Israel the yuan is about to become the new petro dollar. This of course will not impact Israel. They will still receive foreign aid in dollars. (2025-2026 3.8 Billion USD). And of course we are proud of our contribution to the future of Israel.

[when it comes to US troops stationed abroad, the cost is on a shared basis – difficult to pin down. otherwise I would have upgraded the USAFacts chart to include the revenue spent in each country as a result of our troops stationed there. and might yet]
