Erodogan has a long running dispute in the Aegean sea. I will not do a full background. It is a territorial dispute. As it turns out there remain many territorial disputes in the world. This one between Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus.
Turkey has found a solution through the invocation of the will of Iran to institute a toll booth in the Persian Gulf. Erodogan will have legislation passed allowing him to legally claim the disputed territory. Then if necessary fight it out.
Meanwhile the stratosphere is rife with rumors of a US buildup near Taiwan. If true, Xi would have strenuously told Trump to kiss his ass.
