I grew up around the US Nation of Islam, which provided for me a valuable lesson.
I was born a child of the Living God, and later converted to Christianity – having been born again. However, in Plainfield – New Jersey, the movement was big. They began by taking brothers out of jail, putting them in a 3 piece suit. Then they put them to work so it was less chance of them re-offending, working for Allah.
They would literally harass you on the street to come to the Mosque, while selling you a newspaper. I took them up on their offer once so they would stop asking. I was never intending to return, and the hate speech – “white man”; was overwhelming.
It did not anger or upset me. It made me curious. Some 20 odd years later I worked it out. There were no actions coinciding with the hate speech, to date. Thusly, I concluded that the hate speech was not to tear down the white race, it was to build up the black race. Hate speech was used as reverse psychology; sole purpose to give you strength and fortitude. To this day there has been no violent action by the Nation of Islam, other than what was prompted by the FBI – back in the day.
